This depends on the scale of the event. If the water leak is small, you may not need to evacuate the property – simply turn off your water and call a professional.
However, if you experience a flood or larger leak in your property, you should immediately evacuate the premises, call your insurance company and a repair service, and book alternative accommodation if needed. You can then start the insurance claims process to try and recoup some of your losses.

No, it is not safe to stay in a flooded home, especially if there’s structural damage or mould present in the property. Flooding water is also different from many other types of water in that it can contain sewage, bacteria and viruses.
If you’re struggling to find somewhere else to live while your home is being repaired and restored, you’ll be glad to know that we provide temporary alternative accommodation pods. These have been specifically designed to fit into a standard car parking space or driveway and can be delivered within three working days of an emergency.
This depends on several factors, including how long your property was exposed to water and if there is any standing water present.
The drying process could take anywhere between several hours to several days – but you won’t be able to do it with a standard fan. You’ll need specialist drying equipment such as dehumidifiers and air movers to remove water from your property, which is something that our team has access to.
This generally depends on your home insurance policy and whether the leak that caused the damage was sudden or accidental. One thing to note is that water damage caused by a flood is not usually covered by a standard homeowners policy.
If you’re unsure what’s covered, give us a call. We work with some of the biggest insurance companies, loss adjusters and brokers in the UK, and can assist you with water damage repair claims.
