Rainbow leads to pot of gold for ross-shire business

A Ross-shire couple have been voted Franchisees of the Year at Rainbow International’s annual awards.

Rainbow International specialises in restoring homes and businesses following fire, flood or accidental damage, as well as providing a commercial and domestic cleaning service.

Tom & Helen Cox beat off competition from more than 65 franchises across the UK to clinch the title, the most prestigious accolade that can be presented to a Rainbow franchisee.

The Alness based business, which is one of the most successful in Rainbow International’s network, provides specialist cleaning and disaster restoration services to homes and businesses in a very wide and challenging geographic area, which covers Highland & Highlands, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, Argyll, Greenock, North and South-West Glasgow.

This award is the latest in a series of great achievements since they purchased the business 8 years ago. In recent years they have won the Don Dwyer award for excellence, Regional Self-Generated Work awards and The Managing Director’s award for excellence, but the Franchisee of the Year award eclipses everything before it.

Tom and Helen’s team work around the clock attending emergencies hundreds of miles apart in what is the largest geographical area of 67 Rainbow branches across the country.

Excellence in Customer Service is at the forefront of Rainbow’s values, and emphasis is placed on helping customers get their lives and property back to normal as quickly as possible following an incident. Attending site swiftly and isolating the situation following a disaster helps to minimise secondary and consequential loss and also optimises the opportunities for restoration.

Tom and Helen go to great lengths to ensure that they deliver customer service excellence to some of the remotest parts of the UK.

Rainbow International Managing Director Phil Else, in presenting the award, said the couple had consistently shown drive, enthusiasm, passion and teamwork and they were a credit to the business and to their community. Last winter’s floods were a great example of how they provided assistance to dozens of homeowners badly affected by the heavy downpours that the area experienced.

The award also comes just months after the couple were chosen as Franchisees of the Month.

The business continues to expand. It has recently introduced a Duct Cleaning service and purchased an additional territory covering Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, North & South West Glasgow as a result of their excellent business performance. Part of that additional purchase includes taking on 5 additional staff.

Mr Else, Rainbow International’s Managing Director said: “This long established team has worked well together to produce consistent results and they are a terrific example of how and what can be achieved with a positive attitude.”

Helen Cox commented: “This a wonderful achievement for us and my thanks go to our fantastic team whose skill and commitment have enabled us to win this award. We are extremely pleased and are looking to enhance our excellent customer service in the future with even more innovative ideas and initiatives “
