Suction drying and Injection Drying – What’s the Difference?

If your residential or commercial property suffers a water leak, escape of water or flood, the prospect of drying it out or water damage restoration may seem very daunting.  This is why it pays to bring in experts, like Rainbow International, who – working with your insurance company  – can remove the standing water and dry out your property.

With their specialist equipment, techniques and vast experience in flood restoration and water damage restoration, Rainbow is uniquely positioned to help get your business or home life back to normal as quickly as possible.  They are able to offer a number of complex technical solutions to dry layered constructions such as walls, ceilings and floating floors – one of these being suction drying https://youtu.be/Zex5DvfLATE

  • • Suction Drying uses specialist vacuum extracting equipment and turbines. It can be used as a first stage when drying layered construction.  This would be the case, for example, with floating floors, where the water has leaked down into the fill or insulation under the floor.Suction drying is less effective where water has escaped into unreachable voids and hard to access spaces.  If this has happened at your property, don’t worry, your local Rainbow International team will have other ammunition up their sleeves.  In such cases, a drying technique known as Pressure drying (or injection drying) is most cost effective because it saves costly strip-out of structural materials.
  • • Injection Drying provides a drying solution that targets trapped moisture within building interfaces including floating floors. To gain access to these areas it is necessary to open paths to remove the trapped moisture. This process often involves drilling into the building construction to enable dry air to be forced through pipes to the affected area. The forced air then collects the construction leaving the affected area free of moisture and structurally sound.
